- The museum provides an important service to learners with talks and hands on demonstrations.
- Visit previously disadvantaged communities to do oral history information gathering and discuss possibilities of local exhibitions in libraries or other cultural centres that are easily accessible.
- The Museum canvas people and organisations as ‘Friends of the Museum’ and through that provides a service to the community.
- Brochures about museum activities are available to the public and tourism bureau.
- A database is being built up with data obtained from newspapers, books and various researchers and this is available to the public.
- On special days, talks, exhibitions, demonstrations and shows are organised.
- The museum’s Lecture Room and facilities are being used on a regular basis by organisations, the local communities and individuals and this generate funds.
- The museum has a daily Craft Market.
