- To exhibit the history of the whole community in the Greater Hermanus area.
- To get the whole community involved in museum projects and public programmes.
- To create a good educational programme for the local schools in Greater Hermanus as well as the surrounding areas (especially the farm schools).
- To show national and international tourists the rich and diverse history of the area.
