- Visitors to our museum are our most important clients. These include local visitors from the Greater Hermanus and surrounding Overberg area; national tourists with a high influx from the Cape Metropole area over weekends, and from Gauteng and other provinces during school holidays especially December; international tourists with a great increase during the whale season.
- Local and provincial school groups and national and international tour groups form an important part of our total visitor figures. Many groups arrange to have a talk and/or interactivity included.
- Tourism, museum science and architect students for projects or practical training.
- Researchers that share our database for information.
- Businesses and suppliers with whom we trade.
- Tour operators and tour guides use the museum.
- Magazines, TV and film companies use the museum for fashion shoots, documentaries, recordings, films, commercials, TV programmes and TV series.
- Marine biologists that do research
- Artists also form part of our clients and the Whale House is used regularly for art exhibitions.
Crafters use the Fishermen’s Village grounds for their Markets and the Whale House is used for food markets, art markets, Christmas markets, Environ Exhibits.
- Nature Conservation, the SA Navy, The Whale Festival, The Passiespele Committee, Rotarians, use our venues.
- Organisations or individuals like Theta, Wine Tasting Club, CCMA, Heritage Committee, artists, CBD Support Committee, Friends of the Old Harbour Museum, Art Society, use the Lecture Room and facilities for training, talks and events.
